What is chronic fatigue syndrome?

Chronic fatigue syndrome occurs more often in women of reproductive age.
Chronic fatigue syndrome is a form of mental, physical and emotional overwork that occurs in the absence of a disease or other pathological condition.
Chronic fatigue syndrome is characterized by prolonged exposure to factors leading to human depletion. The performance decreases, which does not recover even after a long rest. There are problems with concentration, attention to familiar affairs becomes more difficult to cope.

hypothyroidism - a decrease in the efficiency of the thyroid gland;
allergic reactions;

virus infection (cytomegalovirus, enterovirus, retrovirus). Often the cause of fatigue is the Epstein-Barr virus - the most common type of herpes;
chronic diseases: diabetes mellitus, anemia, pathology of the liver, kidneys, lungs;
recovery period after injuries and operations;
heavy metal salt poisoning;
infectious diseases.
Factors leading to chronic fatigue are represented by the following points:
prolonged stress and tension;
lack of sleep or poor sleep for a long period of time
acute experience of failure;
malnutrition;
prolonged use of drugs or their improper use (cold, sleeping pills, antihypertensive, birth control, antihistamines);
sedentary lifestyle;
poor environmental situation;
bad habits (smoking, drinking);
loss of a loved one.
Chronic fatigue syndrome is the result of lifestyle and external influences. In some cases, the appearance of a problem indicates the development of mental, endocrine, oncological and immune diseases. You can not hesitate, you should visit a doctor and undergo a diagnosis.
Symptoms and signs
there is a runny nose and sore throat;
headache appears;
body temperature rises;
lymph nodes increase.
After 2-3 days, the symptoms intensify, new ones are added:
muscle pain;
muscle weakness;
pain in the joints;
prolonged and severe fatigue after exertion.
The main symptom is prolonged fatigue, which remains even after rest. Efficiency decreases, although diseases and causes that could lead to the condition are clearly absent.

autoimmune: systemic lupus erythematosus, autoimmune thyroiditis;
oncological: thyroid cancer, tumors of the internal organs;
neurological: vegetovascular dystonia, neuropathy, ischemia;
infectious: measles, rubella, diphtheria;
parasitic: giardiasis, ascariasis, enterobiosis;
thyroid pathology;
mental: schizophrenia, depression;
drug reactions: as a result of the use of anesthetics, corticosteroids;
heavy metal poisoning or poisons;
metabolic myopathies - metabolic disorders and decreased physical activity due to a lack of iron, vitamins B, D.
To exclude other diseases, the following measures are used:
analysis of biochemical parameters and samples: levels of calcium, potassium, sodium, glucose, protein, alkaline phosphatase, renal and hepatic samples;
general urine analysis;
general blood test: determination of platelets, ESR, leukocyte formula;
analysis of rheumatoid factor and C-reactive protein;
