5 REASONS FOR EARLY SKIN AGING
1. UV radiation
WHY?
UV radiation (both sun rays and a solarium) accelerate skin aging many times and also increase the risk of neoplasms. Under the influence of sunlight, skin cells have to work under conditions of oxidative stress, violations occur in their structure, genetic apparatus, and intercellular fluid. The skin thickens, its elasticity is lost, wrinkles occur.
WHAT IS DANGEROUS?
* By the age of 20-30 years, pigmentation of the skin begins (areas of hyperpigmentation occur), wrinkles appear.
* At 30 - 40 years old, a yellowish skin tone may appear, facial wrinkles are clearly visible, teleagioectasia (spider veins on the face) may appear.
* After 40 years, the aging process goes even faster - a yellowish-ashy skin tone, wrinkles all over the face, focal skin seals appear.
WHAT TO DO?
* To use sunscreens not only in summer, but also in spring and autumn.
* In the summer, do not sunbathe during high solar activity from 12.00 to 16.00.
* To combat the effects of photoaging, dermatocosmetologists use mesotherapy (injection of drugs into the skin); hardware cosmetology; chemical peels (applying various acids to the skin in order to improve its texture); masks; as well as all procedures aimed at improving blood circulation to the skin - massage, cryomassage, paraffin therapy.
2. Lack of moisture
WHY?
According to scientific data, human skin consists of 70% water and still needs constant hydration. The fact that heavy drinking can compensate for the required amount of water to moisturize the skin is a common misconception. It is impossible to give a general recommendation on how often the skin needs to be moisturized. This largely depends on the individual ability of the skin to retain moisture.
WHAT IS DANGEROUS?
* Dehydration of the skin leads to severe peeling, a feeling of tightening, the appearance of wrinkles and grooves - all these problems accelerate the aging process.
* In dehydrated skin, the structure is disturbed, so it’s not enough just to wash your face, you need funds that capture and hold water molecules.
WHAT TO DO?
* Use moisturizers. They are divided into three types.
* Clogging - for example, petroleum jelly - create a film on the surface of the skin that inhibits the imperceptible loss of moisture from it.
* Moisturizers - for example, glycerin - are a hydroscopic substance that captures and holds water molecules at the level of the surface layers of the skin.
* Biodermally active - for example, biocementin - they restore the stratum corneum and increase the effectiveness of protection against dehydration.
3. Stress
WHY?
The mental state of a person is one of the main factors of health. Stress leads to disorders of the nervous system, this cannot but affect the condition of the skin and the whole organism.
WHAT IS DANGEROUS?
Wrinkles, dark gray (earthy) complexion, dryness, non-healing wounds.
WHAT TO DO?
Do not let emotions get the better of you. In situations where it is difficult to control yourself, drink a cup of tea with mint or lemon balm or take a few drops of a mild sedative (tincture of valerian, peony or eleutherococcus).
4. Skin overload with toxins
WHY?
Toxins in the body accumulate gradually.
There may be several reasons for this:
* uncontrolled use of drugs (for example, antipyretic drugs);
* poor-quality food (for example, meat of animals that were treated with antibiotics and fed hormones;
* plant foods with nitrites, nitrates or pesticides);
* use of chlorinated water.
WHAT IS DANGEROUS?
From the toxic overload of the body, connective tissue is most affected, so the skin loses its elasticity, loses its ability to withstand external influences.
WHAT TO DO?
Whenever possible, try to exclude the reasons indicated above (see the “Why?” Clause).
5. Smoking
WHY?
Skin turgor (elasticity) decreases, blood vessels become brittle, skin oxygen saturation decreases, and skin nutrition is disrupted.
WHAT IS DANGEROUS?
The complexion changes - a slightly pigmented grayish skin, swelling with a reddish tint, the skin becomes flabby, noticeably sagging.
WHAT TO DO?
There is nothing left to do but quit smoking, or at least start by reducing the number of cigarettes to 1 - 2 per day.
IMPORTANT!
It is scientifically proven that a lack of vitamins in the body significantly increases the risk of premature aging, so take vitamin complexes twice a year (for example, in spring and autumn - vitamin deficiency seasons). Please note that they contain vitamin E (tocopherol) - it prevents the destructive effect of oxidizing radicals on tissues and thereby prevents aging.
ON A NOTE
* It is impossible to slow down the aging of the body, including the skin, without observing at least the basic points of proper nutrition.
* Lean on fresh vegetables and fruits (especially those that contain vitamin C - all citrus fruits, kiwis).
* Cereals, whole grain bread and dairy products.
* Healthy breakfast - oatmeal with pieces of fruit, such as apples.
* If you can’t have lunch during the day, have a snack with a banana or drink a glass of kefir - the feeling of hunger will recede until the evening.
* Drink more water, preferably mineral, without gas.
* Try to have dinner no later than seven in the evening.
